Did you know that many university consider FOM 12 equivalent to Pre-Calculus 11? This opens doors for many students who want to pursue an academic path, but in a less abstract way.

This course will be challenging and will push your skills, but is more manageable than the pre-Calculus route.




Here are the major units that are studied in this course:


Number Sense Unit:  number sets and counting methods
Data Unit:  probability
Functions Unit:  polynomials, logarithms, sine and cosine graphs
Financial Unit:  investments and loans


Assessment:
Term Grades:
     Bookwork / daily work:  10%
     Bi-Unit Formal Assessments (open book, collaborative):  40%
     Unit Tests (closed book):  50%


Final Exam in January = 20% of the course.
